Nominator's project description
| Professor Massimo La Torre is an internationally prominent scholar in the field of Legal Philosophy and Legal Theory. He has developed the basis of a new institutional legal theory in conjugating it with a moderate cognitivist metaethics and landing into a procedural and deliberative concept of political action. He has made considerable contributions to the cultural and political core of individual rights, to citizenship as a notion of political membership, as well as to constitutionalism and legal reasoning. During his stay in Germany Professor La Torre`s research focuses on problems of law and force that supposedly provoke a change of paradigm for the concept of law. |
